Facts:
First appearing in the Fenland waters in the early 1960's, it is a voracious predator of other fish species. It has been accused of causing damage to non-predatory fish stocks but firm evidence is difficult to prove. It is hated and loved by anglers in almost equal measure and has rapidly spread through each river system it has gained access to. In the UK specimens have been caught weighing up to 19lb plus. |
